UMCN Finalizes Acquisition Mofido Rice Mill Company

 

  The United Methodist Church Nigeria (UMCN) has finalized the purchase of the Mofido Rice Mill Company in Jalingo, marking a major step in its drive toward economic empowerment and community development.

The transaction, completed on August 29, 2025, is in line with the transformational vision of Bishop Ande Emmanuel, who has consistently emphasized the need for the church to invest in sustainable ventures that benefit society.

The newly acquired facility consists of key structures, including a processing room, warehouse, security post, rice boiling point, and partially completed office buildings. It is also equipped with modern rice processing machines such as a colour sorter, polisher, grader, destoner, and elevator, designed to boost efficiency and output.

Top management officials of the Church witnessed the final payment process, including the Administrative Assistant to the Bishop, the Field Treasurer, the Church Chancellor, the Director of Procurement, and the Property Manager.

Church leaders described the acquisition as a milestone that reflects UMCN's commitment to long-term development strategies aimed at uplifting communities, creating opportunities, and strengthening food security in Taraba State and beyond.

According to the Church, the investment in rice production will not only support local farmers but also generate jobs and contribute to the economic stability of the region.
