….'Mu'azu Jaji Sambo Goes Nowhere; He Is Core APC'

 

 

"The Sun will yet rise on the Mambilla" was a statement made by Mu'azu Jaji Sambo, CON, FNIOB, the immediate past Minister of Transportation, and the 2023 Coordinator of the Taraba State Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, as culled from his Facebook publication on Thursday, March 3, 2022. This article seems to embody a clarion call, as it remains relevant even three years later, for the citizens of Taraba State who yearn for development.

 

Comparing his home state with other well-developed states, the sexagenarian opined, "Nothing irks my sleep like seeing the land of my birth become a negative reference point among the comity of states. My heart yearns daily for a better Taraba. Long have we hoped in despair, long have we wailed and wished, long have we prayed, but the help we seek will not come from without; the help we seek will come from among us".

 

In his submission for infrastructural and economic development, he noted that, "Nothing stops skyscrapers from littering the Hammanruwa Way, or heavy industries in the suburbs of Jalingo, Wukari, Gembu, etc; nothing prevents us from being the tourism capital of Nigeria; nothing stops us from exporting our vast agricultural produce or generating the highest IGR in the country; our potentials are limitless, our reach is as far as we so wish".

 

While charging Tarabans never to lose hope, and noting that governance is a collective effort, he charged, "Alas! The gloomy days are over. We can be who we so wish to be. From the little boy in the classroom under the tree in Bali to the tomato seller in Lau market to the Imams and the Priests that officiate in our worship centres, it is time to take charge of our destiny and reroute this ship to greatness".

 

"Let the sweeper on the street sweep excellently; let the civil servants do their best; let the politician carry the burden of the people at heart; let every seed of my fatherland work with the consciousness that a higher power looks at us from above", he said. 

 

While confident that a new and better Taraba is possible, shunning division along ethnic and religious divides, he stated, "I am confident, this is the dawn of greatness. I call on my brothers and sisters alike, regardless of our religious, political, or intellectual differences, to join hands and move our state forward. This is our home, our heritage, our place of birth and pride!"

 

"Our roads will be built again. Our land and schools will function again; our farm produce will be exported, and investors will find a haven in our state. Let us come together to build our land. The Sun is rising, greatness beckons! We are nature's gift to the nation," he encouraged.

 

In closing, he affirmed his allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and his home State, Taraba.

"I am Mu'azu Jaji Sambo, a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from Taraba, of Taraba by Tarabans."

"Long live Taraba State in greatness!!, Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!", he prayed.

 

However, there are speculations in several quarters that Mu'azu Jaji Sambo is considering entering the Taraba State Gubernatorial election race in 2027 and the possibility of decamping to another party. 

While confirming from his Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, if his principal has such ambition, he responded,

"As we speak now, my principal is about his personal business, and contributing his own quota to the human capital development of the Taraba citizenry. The future is pregnant; it is too early to begin to make speculations. 2027 is still far," He noted. 

On decamping, after a good laugh, he affirmed, "Mu'azu Jaji Sambo goes nowhere; he is core APC. My principal believes in the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. And he believes that soon, Nigerians will begin to reap the dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda".

 

"After serving as the 2023 PCC campaign coordinator that brought the government of the day to power, it will be foolhardy to say he is decamping. Sambo is a loyalist and a gentleman who deeply believes in the Nigerian project. He remains an APC member".

 

Furthermore, the media aide stated that if President Muhammadu Buhari were alive in 2027, he would have campaigned for and voted for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. "Based on my principal's intimate relationship with the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, I have heard him say repeatedly that if the late President were alive in 2027, he would have campaigned and voted for President Tinubu, forget what some people are peddling about. For this and other reasons, trusting President Tinubu to reposition the economy, Sambo goes nowhere".

 

The future is pregnant; notwithstanding, the Sun will yet rise on the Mambilla.
