Popular Taraba Businessman Muhammad Maiharka Is Dead

The city of Jalingo is in mourning following the death of one of its most prominent businessmen, Alhaji Muhammadu Nuhu, popularly known as Maiharka. The revered entrepreneur and community leader passed away suddenly and was laid to rest on Friday, in accordance with Islamic rites.

 

Alhaji Maiharka was the owner of Brothers Company Limited and a household name in Taraba State's business circles. Known for his humility, generosity, and unwavering commitment to community development, his passing has left a gaping void in the hearts of many.

 

The businessman was widely recognized for establishing the once-thriving Michelin tyre dealership in Jalingo. The location of his business eventually became known as "Michelin Bus Stop," a now-iconic landmark in the state capital. For years, the area served as a central point for commercial vehicles and travelers, all thanks to the enterprise and vision of one man.

 

"Alhaji Maiharka wasn't just a businessman," said a family friend during the funeral. "He was a builder of relationships and a pillar of our community. His impact went far beyond commerce."

 

Known for his calm demeanor, warm hospitality, and open-door approach, Alhaji Maiharka was respected by both the elite and the common man. He helped countless individuals through clean, honest business and unwavering compassion. His legacy includes not just a successful enterprise but a generation of lives touched through kindness and generosity.

 

In a condolence message, the Executive Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan, described the late businessman as "a rare gem whose life was dedicated to the progress of others."

 

"On behalf of the government and people of Jalingo LGA, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Alhaji Muhammad Maiharka," the Chairman said. "We pray Allah grants him Aljannatul Firdausi and gives his loved ones the strength to bear this loss."
