PDP Continues Statewide Tour, Storms Mutum-Biyu

  The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State has continued its state-wide "Thank You Tour" with a high-profile visit to Mutum-Biyu, the administrative headquarters of Gassol Local Government Area in the Central Zone.

The tour, which was flagged off on July 31st, began in Kurmi LGA and has since traversed several councils across the Southern and Central Zones of the state. It is designed as a post-election appreciation campaign aimed at strengthening grassroots support and promoting unity within the party.

Speaking during the event in Gassol, the PDP State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, urged party members and stakeholders to avoid divisive politics fueled by gossip and instigation. He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation as the party works to deliver on its mandate to the people.

"This tour is not just to say thank you," Bawa said. "It is also to listen to the people, assess our progress, and reaffirm our commitment to grassroots engagement. The era of politics driven by rumour and disunity must end if we are to move forward as a party and as a state."

Other speakers at the event commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his leadership, particularly in restoring peace and security across the state. They also highlighted key achievements of the administration, including the introduction of free education at both primary and secondary school levels, which has been widely praised as a landmark policy for youth development and educational equity.

The turnout in Mutum-Biyu was described as massive, as enthusiastic crowds lined the streets to receive the PDP delegation. The event featured interactions with local party leaders, youth groups, women's associations, and traditional stakeholders.

According to the organizers, the tour is being conducted in phases across the state's 16 Local Government Areas. So far, the PDP has covered the entire Southern Zone and has visited two Local Government Areas in the Central Zone, with plans to continue the remaining stops in the coming days.

The party also expressed appreciation to local government chairmen for the warm receptions at each stop, describing the gestures as clear indicators of PDP's enduring dominance in Taraba politics.

"The journey continues," a party source said. "We are committed to reconnecting with the people, documenting their needs, and making sure the policies of Governor Kefas reflect grassroots realities."

The tour is expected to wrap up later this month, culminating in a detailed report that will guide the party's engagement strategies and development priorities moving forward.
