PDP Grassroots Movement Endorses Hon. Hassan Umar Kona for Jalingo Chairmanship Ticket

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) Grassroots Movement in Jalingo Local Government Area has thrown its weight behind Hon. Hassan Umar Kona, endorsing his candidacy for the Chairmanship seat in the forthcoming local government elections.

Speaking during a public declaration in Jalingo, the convener of the group, Hon. Aliyu Mijinyawa, called on all party stakeholders, supporters, and residents of Jalingo to rally behind Hon. Kona, describing him as a man of integrity, vision, and service.

According to the group, Hon. Kona has over the years demonstrated uncommon commitment to the PDP and unwavering loyalty to the growth of democracy in Nigeria, dating back to his early involvement in the G34 group that laid the foundation for the formation of the party in 1998.

"Hon. Hassan Umar Kona is not just a pioneer member of our great party in Jalingo, he has also contested for several key positions, including the State House of Assembly and the Chairmanship of Jalingo LGA on two previous occasions. His passion for service and his consistent presence within the PDP speak volumes of his dedication," Mijinyawa stated.

The movement highlighted key qualities of Hon. Kona's leadership, noting his empathy, inclusive representation, and people-centered approach to governance. They emphasized that his deep understanding of the needs of the Jalingo people makes him the most suitable candidate to steer the affairs of the local government.

"Hon. Kona values every individual, regardless of status or background. His track record in community engagement and his readiness to tackle the challenges faced by our people make him the ideal candidate to deliver sustainable development and effective governance in Jalingo," the statement added.

The endorsement also aligns with the broader agenda of the Taraba State Government under Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas, who has been praised for his people-focused policies and developmental drive. The grassroots movement believes Hon. Kona's leadership will complement the state government's efforts in transforming Jalingo into a model local government.

"We are confident that with Hon. Hassan Umar Kona as Chairman, Jalingo will witness improved infrastructure, enhanced social services, and expanded economic opportunities," the group affirmed.

In their remarks, the PDP Grassroots Movement urged all party delegates and stakeholders to recognize Hon. Kona's longstanding contributions to the party and reward his loyalty with the Chairmanship ticket.

"Let us unite behind Hon. Hassan Umar Kona and work together to build a better, more prosperous Jalingo. The time for transformation is now," the statement concluded.

 

The group has vowed to mobilize widespread support for Hon. Kona as the campaign gains momentum ahead of the elections.
