Jalingo LG Chairman Donates Relief Materials to Displaced Munga Residents

  The Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Area, Hon. Aminu Jauro Hassan, has donated relief materials to victims of the recent crisis in Munga community, Karim Lamido Local Government Area.

The relief items were presented to internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Munga who are currently taking refuge at Government Day Secondary School, Howai, in Jalingo.

The donated materials included food and hygiene supplies such as macaroni, spaghetti, bread, soap, and detergent, among others.

Represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Ntani Peter, the Chairman expressed deep sympathy to the affected persons and reassured them of the council's continued support.

"You are not alone in this difficult time," he said. "We stand with you and are working in line with the state government's broader efforts to restore peace and end the crisis."

Also speaking during the visit, the Director of Public Affairs and Operations at the Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Sani Garba Maisukwati, reaffirmed the administration's commitment to the welfare of displaced persons across the state.

"Governor Agbu Kefas is taking proactive steps to address insecurity and ensure that displaced communities receive the support they need," he stated.

Receiving the items on behalf of the community, the Chairman of Munga, Shammah Ezra, expressed gratitude to the Jalingo Local Government Council for what he described as a timely and compassionate intervention.

"This donation is a clear sign that the government is listening. We thank the council for their continued support and responsiveness to our plight," Ezra said.

The Munga crisis, which recently displaced dozens of families, is part of the wider unrest affecting parts of Karim Lamido LGA. Relief and peace-building efforts are ongoing across the affected areas.
