UMCN Raises Concern Over Attacks In Karim Lamido

The United Methodist Church of Nigeria, UMCN has raised concern over an attack on its members in Karim Lamido Local Government Area.

According to the Director of Communication for the Nigeria Episcopal Area, Reverend Filibus BakariAuta, the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon while church members were on their way to Bamburafter the inauguration of the UMCN Medical Board in Jalingo.

The delegation included church leaders, members, and foreign missionaries, among them two bishops from Liberia and Sierra Leone, as well as citizens from the United States, Senegal, and Cameroon.

Reverend Auta stated that they were allegedly attacked by members of the Global Methodist Church of Nigeria near Ethel Johnson Comprehensive Secondary School in Karim Moundi

The attackers, he said, accused them of passing through an area they claimed was not UMCN territory and made derogatory remarks about the church.

The attack led to the destruction of vehicles, and some individuals sustained minor injuries.
