Relatives Of Late Former Taraba Chief Judge Beat Widow To Stupor Over Properties


 

The wife of late former Chief Justice of Taraba State Mrs. Destiny Courage Andetur was beaten up mercilessly by her in-laws in her late husband's house. 

 

The incident happened on Sunday evening, 26/5/24 after the family organised a three days prayer for the  former Chief Judge of Taraba State, Justice FilibusBitrus Andetur at his residence  in Jalingo and the wife of the deceased was in attendance. 

Drama started immediately after the prayer meeting, when some relative of the late former Chief Judge together with some unknown youths attacked the widow and  beat her. 

 

The in-laws also ceased her phones and the keys to the house of the late CJ before threw her out of the house. 

 

She was immediately rushed to Federal Medical Center  FMC Jalingo by her relations where she is currently receiving treatment. 

 

Sources in the know said the police command in Taraba State has already swung into action to arrest the situation. Some of those involved in the crime are said to be on the run. 

 

Relatives of the late Justice and his wife are already in court over the property of the deceased. 

 

The first wife of the late CJ who was divorced for over a decade has also shown up as a complainant in court, laying claim to be the wife of the deceased with a young man who claims he was born outside wedlock also surfaced, laying claim to his late father's property. 

The elder brother to the late former Chief Judge, Chief Timothy Bitrus Andetur said the relations were not satisfied with circumstances surrounding the death of the former chief judge.

 

The wife of the deceased has approached the police seeking for the protection of her life following the persistent harassment and attack by her in-laws despite the fact that the case is in court.
