Mumuyes Should Vote SDP On Wednesday’- Youth Group Insist

The Mumuye Youths Cultural Development Association, has called on it's members, to vote for the Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) and it's candidate, Innocent Umar Jabayang, in the rerun of the Jalingo, Yorro Zing by-election in Taraba state which comes up on the 14th of February 2024.

The youths during a world press conference in Jalingo noted that the SDP candidate did not step down as speculated and only refused to accept a call to step down from the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Taraba state chapter because they have endorsed him earlier.

The youths speaking  through it's Public Relations Officer, Allison Remission Lazere said the three local government areas making up the constituency in contention is predominantly occupied by the peace-loving and law abiding Mumuye people".

It also stated that, their unrelenting desire for peace, which is recently being threatened by some enemies in form of kidnappers and unknown gunmen, have also not been resisted by security operatives in the area.
The Mumuye Youths, however, "condemn in strong terms, the recent activities of the Christian Association of Nigeria Taraba State Chapter, in relation to the by-election in the state".
Calling on the Association to "stay clear of any form of interference before, during and after the rerun election scheduled for Wednesday 14th February 2024.

The Mumuye Youths group, also acknowledged the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas over its continous love for the Mumuye people, while urging him to "stay true to the political marriage between the Jukun and Mumuye people while providing level grounds for the candidates in the rerun election" And let the will of the people prevail which will bring the development the governor desires for the state.

Similarly, the President of the Association Ezekiel H. Augustine, the mumuye is one of the largest tribes in Nigeria and should be represented at the National Assembly.
He Called on the mumuye people to send their own who will communicate their plight to the federal government.

The president also noted that the Youths were aware that their stakeholders are being threatened while stating that their quest is beyond party, or religious ideology but about a person that will pull them out of the difficult situation they find themselves.

The Association call on the people to come out on the 14th, and vote in confirmation of the trust and confidence placed upon the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Innocent Umar Jabayang.
