Foundation Offers Scholarships To 23 Students With Disability In Taraba

The Hajaratu Yakubu Kodiya foundation has disbursed scholarship to 23 students with special needs in the University and final year students of the college of Nursing and midwifery, Jalingo.

 

The foundation said this is to reduce the hardship for students with special needs in the University and students of college of Nursing and midwifery Jalingo facing in meeting up with their schools responsibilities and will also go along way in supporting the agenda of Taraba State Government of providing quality education to it's citizens.

 

The foundation reports that the beneficiaries were selected from various part of Taraba State.

 

The Leader of the foundation, Mr Sunday Yakubu Kodiya, represented by the Nigeria coordinator Mr Simon, said the gesture was borne out of his passion for education, to secure a better future for teaming youths, to attain sane and safe society.

 

He  added that the beneficiaries received between 37,700, 46,700, 46,900, 54, 900, 55,200, 63,900, 71,900, 78,900 and N100, 000 each, based on their field of study at a symbolic presentation, adding that all of the beneficiaries had received alerts for the payment.

 

He said that the scholarship was to bring succor to parents who were struggling with the hard economic situation.

 

One of the beneficiaries,  Ishaku Rabiu,a law student and President of students with special needs Taraba State Chapter from Taraba State University thanked Mr Sunday Kodiya and the foundation for the gesture and promised to use the fund judiciously.

 

Another beneficiary from college of Nursing and midwifery commended the foundation for ensuring that the scholarship became a reality.
