PROWPMAN Executives Back Hon Isa Nawe As Chairman

The Processed Wood Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria, PROWPMAN, has passed a vote of Confidence on their Chairman Mr Isa Nawe.

In a statement issued in Jalingo, the acting state secretary Audeshatso Ira, it said the purported suspension of the chairman by some members of the association is a breach of it's constitution.
The association therefore call on the general public to disregard the unauthorized activities of Comrade Nwunuji Rimamtenrikwen, and other members involved.
The association cautioned the general public to stop any form of engagement with Rimamtenrikwen and his cohorts under the association's platform or face the risk of legal action.
The sixteen Local Government chairmen of the Association alongside majority of the State Escos are also present at the event.
Reacting to his suspension the embattled Chairman Hon Isa Nawe said the rumored of his suspension as the State Chairman of PROWPMAN was desperately sponsored by one Comr.
Nwunuji Rimamtenrikwen on media should be disregarded and dispelled by the general public for it was out of envy and lust for power.
"The attention of the Executive Committee of the above Association has been drawn to
a press conference/release in which some disgruntled and misinformed members purportedly suspended her democratically elected Chairperson of Hon. Isa Nawe (LTD), and appointed one Comrade Nwunuji Rimamterikwen as caretaker Chairman.
"This unfortunate act/action by such evil minded and disgruntled elements in the Association who are bend in frustrating the remarkable achievements of the chairman, would ordinarily not have been reacted to, but in order to make the record straight, in order to safe and protect the image of the association, her piece loving and loyal members, and the general public from the hands of these mischief makers.
"It is to be noted that Hon. Isa Nawe remains the valid and lawful Chairman of the above Association in Taraba State and he is, has been and shall continue to effectively discharge his functions and duties, until the expiration of the term he was elected to serve, as provided for by the Constitution of the Association.
"There was never a time when the executive committee of this association met formally, deliberated and resolved to suspend Honorable Isa Nawe as the authentic chairman of this association in Taraba State.
"By the way, the Bye-Laws of the Association provides and also laid down a procedure for the removal of any officer of this association. The provision in the by- law of the association, especially Article 18, is supreme and binding on all her members.
In the purported press statement issued by such disgruntle elements, some false and unsubstantiated allegations against the person of Hon. Isa Nawe were made. It is
worthy of note that no such allegations were ever made against the chairman, Hon.
Isa Nawe, let alone, giving him the opportunity to be heard on such false
allegations. The allegations as contained in the purported press statement are not only
false but manufactured by such disgruntled elements to deceive the general public.
The National Executive Committee of this Association never at any time ever
entertained any complaint against the chairman of this branch leveled by any
members or members, wherein a decision was taken; and it is only the National
Executive Committee that has such power."
