The Executive Governor of Taraba State.

Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas

Sir,

I write to congratulate you on your inauguration as the Executive Governor of Taraba State. Your Excellency Sir, you are aware of the 2023 elections where electorates voted their leaders based on their performers.

Sir, the immediate Governor of Taraba State lost his bid to the senatorial seat of the Southern Zone. Many Governors failed to win their senatorial bids as well. The Ruling parties in some states lost their governorship seats to other opposition parties. That was the development in the 2023 elections and we expect that by 2027, more development will emerge which we hope technology will play a vital role in the next election.

Sir, Taraba State is like a mini Nigeria with enormous problems facing it at the moment. Our tribes and cultures varied in nature. We need to harness our great potentials. Sir, I am using this medium to advise you to pick security, unity, review of Jalingo permanent curfew and restrictions of tricycle and if possible allowing private motorcycle in Jalingo as your first task. With your military experience as army intelligence officer, you can be able to look inwards towards uniting all our tribes despites our cultural and religious differences so that you can find ways to move Taraba State forward. Development only thrives in a peaceful environment.

Statistics shows that Taraba State is one of the states with highest out of school children. One of the reasons for that sir, was the inability of students to pay school and WAEC/NECO fees. Most males dropout resorts to stealing while females resorts to prostitution to earn money to pay school NECO/WAEC fees. If there is way to declare Education free in Taraba State, then we solicit that Education be free or NECO/WAEC fees be free. Sir, education is the key to development.

Your Excellency sir. In your appointments towards forming your government, we advise that you expand your cabinet by including oppositions who are competent and willing to work for the state. Sir, you need to look inwards by not doing the bidding of few politicians and by not only focusing on your party. We advise that you look at the history of people with good track records in the fields of business, retired civil servants and academicians of different backgrounds to field in your cabinet.

Finally, we will keep lending our advice so long as your administration will be focusing on the people's wellbeing and State's development. Your Excellency Sir, we are Tarabans that believes in good governance and dividends of democracy where everyone will benefit from your good leadership irrespective of tribe region or religion. Congratulations once again. We pray that almighty God guides you to the right thing in restoring hope to Tarabans.
