The members of the Taraba State Executive Committee (SEC) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has passed a vote of no confidence on the Chairman Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Suldi and removed him from office as the Chairman of APC in the State.

In a release jointly signed letter addressed to the National Chairman of the APC, 38 members of the APC Taraba State Executive Committee said  El-Sudi has failed, refused and neglected to call for State Executive Committee meetings, and this, without any reason or justification whatsoever. "The SEC is effectively comatose, and no one knows what is happening, as the other officers of the party in the state are sidelined in their official functions of the party."

They said the powers conferred on them by Article 21(d)(vi) of the APC Constitution gave them the power to remove the Chairman on grounds of his failures.

The statement read, "the entire Exco of Taraba state APC hereby resolved to disassociate our good selves with the unconstitutional manner of removing an elected officers of the Party with reference to aforementioned chairmen. In all, the conducts of El-Sudi to favor some party members and disfavor some, and not to provide level playing ground and fairness to all party members, has created widespread disaffection among party faithfuls.

In view of all the above infractions by El-Sudi and his retrogressive style of leadership, we have no confidence in him to continue as the Taraba State APC chairman. Accordingly, we have therefore invoked the powers conferred on us by Article 21(d)(vi) of the APC Constitution and have removed him from office as the APC Chairman Taraba State. Please note that the resolution to so remove him was reached with the full support of the local government chairmen who have also appended their names and signatures in the annexed list."

Dear Sir

VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE FOR THE REMOVAL OF HON. BARR. IBRAHIM TUKUR EL-SUDI AS CHAIRMAN OF ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS (APC) TARABA STATE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 21(D)(VI) OF THE APC CONSTITUTION

We write to you as members of the State Executive Committee ("SEC) of our great party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Taraba State.

2. We wish to communicate to you our unanimous decision and resolution to pass a vote of

no confidence on Hon. Barr. Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi ("El-Sudi), and to thereby remove

him from office as the Chairman of APC Taraba State. This is pursuant to the powers conferred on us by Article 21(d)(vi) of the APC Constitution.

3. Our grounds and justification for passing a vote of no confidence on El-Sudi, and to consequently remove him from office as Taraba State APC Chairman relates to his failure to discharge his responsibilities, as well as neglect and dereliction of duty or misconduct, as particularized below:

A. Disobedience or negligence in carrying out lawful directives of the party: For example, contrary ot the directives of hte national that the indirect mode of primary election should be adopted, the state chairman communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commision (INEC) that the party chose direct mode of primary election. This has caused disaffection and discord within the party resulting in numerous litigations. This contravenes Article 21 (a)(iii) of the APC Constitution.

B. Absenteeism and abdication of office: El-Sudi has consistently absented himself from his office in Taraba State, and has relocated and set up permanent base in Abuja-FCT, effectively abdicating his office by his failure, refusal, or neglect to discharge the duties and functions of his office. His absence has created vacuum in the administration of the party in the state, as the party in Taraba State is effectively rudderless, directionless, and lacking in leadership and bearing. This has also caused disaffection within the party.

C. Breach of provisions of party constitution: El-Sudi has failed, refused or neglected to call for SEC meetings, and this, without any reason or justification whatsoever. The SEC is effectively comatose, and no one knows what is happening, as the other officers of the party in the state are sidelined in their official functions of the party. At this critical election period, when the party ought to be strategizing and planning on how to win the forthcoming elections, the importance of SEC meetings cannot be overemphasized. However, El-Sudi by his conduct has undermined our collective efforts towards winning the forthcoming elections. Again, in breach of the party constitution, El-Sudi singlehandedly removed five (5) local government chairmen who were legitimately elected, and he replaced them with his minions, thereby forming factions and parallel administration in the local governments. This contravenes Article 21(a)(vi) against factionalisation or creating parallel party organs at any level.

D. Usurpation of functions of other organs and officers of the party: El-Sudi operates a one man show, whereby he usurped the powers, duties, and functions of all other organs or officers of the party in the state, all to himself. It was as part of his unilateral operations of the party that he singlehandedly replaced legitimately elected local government chairmen with his stooges. Again, El-Sudi does not cary members of the SEC along in his leadership of the party. Rather, he makes all the decisions by himself, together with some of his stooges through whom he implements his decisions. This has

resulted in disaffection and disharmony in the state chapter. El-Sudi continues to fan the embers of discord and rancor to the detriment of the progress of the party.

E. Exposing the party to ridicule, disaffection, and unnecessary litigation: By his conducts, El-Sudi has exposed the party in the state to ridicule, disaffection, and unnecessary litigation. Just recently, the Supreme Court had to cancel gubernatorial primary election and some other primary elections held by the party in the state. In large part, the issues leading to this litigation resulted from EI-Sudi's inability to reconcile and accommodate varied interests within the party. Again, the five local government chairmen removed and replaced by El-Sudi were reinstated by the court but El-Sudi has deliberately refused to obey the judgment of the court. Despite the Court ruling against El-Sudi on the removal of the five chairmen, he recently went ahead to purportedly remove two (2) chairmen of Lau and Jalingo Local Governments which was revolt and same let to a serious tension which threatened security and peace within the entire APC family and supporters in the state. We, the entire Exco of Taraba state APC hereby resolved to disassociate our good selves with the unconstitutional manner of removing an elected officers of the Party with reference to aforementioned chairmen. In all, the conducts of El-Sudi to favor some party members and disfavor some, and not to provide level playing ground and fairness to all party members, has created widespread disaffection among party faithfuls.

4. Please note that the resolution to so remove him was reached with the full support of the local government chairmen who have also appended their names and signatures in the annexed list.

5. This is for your information and necessary action, please. Accept the assurances of our highest regards.

Yours faithfully,

Signed jointly and severally by the APC Taraba State Executive Committee members as contained in the annexed list.
