Fresh Crisis in Taraba APC Over Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council

•Bwacha's camp Moves Against Minister Jaji

The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) is in disarray over the inauguration of the Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign council (PCC).

A letter had earlier surfaced, notifying the party chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim El-Sudi and the party executives of the Tinubu/Shettima PCC inauguration.

The state executive of the party is believed to be loyal to it's Governorship Candidate Senator Emmanuel Bwacha.

The inauguration to be cheered by the Hon. Minister of Transportation, Eng. Muazu Jaji Sambo, had kept the party's executive committee in the dark while concluding on the plans, only to notify them via a letter.

The letter reads in part, "I write to inform you that the Hon. Minister of Transportation, Eng. Muazu Jaji Sambo who is also the state coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima campaign council will be inaugurating the state campaign structure on the 18th December, 2022 at the senate plaza Jalingo."

A reply letter signed by APC Taraba State chapter secretary, Hon. Fidelis Francis was sent almost immediately ordering the discontinuing of the proposed PCC inauguration.

"It has come to the notice of the Taraba State executive committee of the APC that a date has been set for the inauguration of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential council in Taraba State.

"However, this  important occasion has been scheduled without a formal notification to the State Executive of the party.

"This major flaw has a serious implication on discipline and unity of the party especially as it affects the organization of the APC."

In the conclusive part of the letter, executive members of the APC at all levels were advised to suspend their participation in the scheduled inauguration until the proper thing is done.
Meanwhile sources in the party said the Minister has not reached out to other members of the presidential campaign council before appointing his committee.
"The Minister should call a meeting of members of the state presidential campaign council before inaugurating the campaign structure in the state," a party member said.
