Why Jalingo Airport Was Closed Against Bwacha- Manager

The manager of the Danbaba Suntai Airport Jalingo, Engr. Danlami Iwhen has given reasons why the airport operation was shut yesterday, Tuesday.

The closure of the airport had stopped a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress APC, Emmanuel Bwacha from landing at the facility on Tuesday.

In an interview with Taraba Truth and Facts, Engr   Iwen said the regulatory body during it's   routine inspection observed some gaps, and they were given final notice to fix it before the week runs out.

Engr  Iwen said that the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has threatened to withdraw their license of operation if they don't work to fix the gap at the airport.

"The regulatory  body call Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) on their routine inspection to our airport two days back observed some gaps, and they gave us final notice that if we couldn't fix the gaps before this week runs out, our license will be seized. Based on that, we are fixing those gaps before time elapse, thank you", said the manager.

However, the decision to shut down the Jalingo Airport forces Bwacha's flight to land at the Danbaba Suntai Airport Jalingo on Tuesday, instead, his flight landed at the Yola Airport.

This caused a lot of mixed feelings among his supporters who were waiting at the Jalingo Airport to receive him.

The Bwacha Campaign Organization had alleged that the Taraba State government under the leadership of Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku directed the management of Danbaba Suntai Airport to stop Senator Bwuacha's flight from landing.

According to the group, "The airport's electricity supply was shut down  immediately after the departure of Overland Airways flight to Abuja for the day.  Thereby making it impossible for the Bwacha's flight to land".

Taraba Truth and Fact also gathered from security sources at the airport that armed thugs and hoodlums were already trooping to the airport and the security of the place was compromised.
