Taraba Christian Community Denies Receiving Christmas Gifts, Support From Sen. Yusuf A. Yusuf
The Christian Community in Taraba State has denied receiving any Christmas gifts from Senator representing Taraba Central Senatorial District, Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf
The Christian Community reacting to claims that Sen. Yusuf A. Yusuf distributed Christmas Gifts, both Materially and financially to its members, particularly Taraba central zone Branch of CAN, said hardly supports the Christian community in the area.
State Chairman Youth Wing, Christian Association Of Nigeria CAN, Evang Jesse Ephesian said the rumor has put Christian leaders in the area under, accusing CAN Taraba state of being greedy to hoard the Christmas gifts sent by senator Yusuf A Yusuf to the Christian community .
" It is on this note that we want to clearly state that, we have never for once received any support from the said senator.
"We have made various consultations by reaching out to the State CAN quarters and all the branches in the central zone to verify the rumors, but unfortunately, we found out that nothing was distributed during the Christmas season powered by Sen. Yusuf A. Yusuf.
It is now believed that, it was just a mere rumor and that; if Sen. Yusuf A. Yusuf has contributed to the Christian brethren during the Christmas period, or New Year as it is been claimed, then he is hereby advised to checkmate the way it was done ranging from the people he appointed to carry out that task, the channel through which they followed in disseminating/distributing those materials to the Central Zone CAN,'' Evang Jesse Ephesian said.
He noted that once the Christian Community had approached Senator Yusuf for starter packs for some youths who were trained by the North East Development Commission NEDC but the Senator never fulfilled his promise to provide them.
"What CAN Taraba state has requested from Senator Yusuf A Yusuf was his promised to advocate on our behalf to the North East Development Commission NEDC leadership to provide starter packs to the 1300 youths that was trained in August 2020 at CAN Secretariat, Jalingo; in various trades, and as it is, we are yet to hear from him and we are patiently waiting to hear from him on the latest development concerning the starter packs as many Youths are still mounting pressure on the Leadership."
