Southern Taraba residents accused electricity officials in Benue state of not supplying the zone with electricity due to the ongoing Jukun/Tiv Crisis.

They people disclose that it is the habit of electricity officials from Benue state to stop electricity supply to Takum, Wukari and Donga whenever there is a crisis between Tiv people and any tribe in Southern Taraba.

According to our correspondent this is not the first time such has been happening.

" This is not the first time we have been experiencing this whenever there is crisis between Tiv and any tribe in Taraba state, there brothers working with Electricity company will intentional stop supplying us with electricity, sometimes these ever hence attacks because our phones might be off due to charging and we will not be able to communicate with Security agencies.

"Sometimes this Tiv people living along Zaki Biam – Wukari and Takum – Katsina Ala road will go as far as cutting down electricity supply cable leading to Taraba State, we don't know if this is their own way of contributing to the crisis"

" We are surprised at this, it seems the Tiv have decided to fight us using all material at their disposal and their brothers in offices have also been doing the same," a resident said.

They called on the government to look into this issue and ensure essential services coming from Benue state are not disrupted based on the protracted communal crisis .
