Pupils of Model Primary School in Jalingo have benefitted from the distribution of free school uniforms and learning materials under the Taraba State Government’s free education policy championed by Governor Agbu Kefas.

The exercise, conducted within the school premises, is part of ongoing efforts by the state government to ease the financial burden on parents and improve access to basic education.

The Principal of the school, Habibu Umar Dodo, described the initiative as timely and impactful, noting that it would boost enrolment, improve attendance, and enhance teaching and learning. He commended the state government for prioritising the education sector.

The Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association, Ibrahim Foku, also lauded the intervention, saying it has brought relief to many families grappling with the cost of education. He noted that the policy reflects government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises.

Teachers and beneficiaries who spoke during the distribution expressed optimism that the gesture would motivate pupils to remain in school and perform better academically. They pledged to ensure proper use of the materials.

The pupils, who expressed excitement over the support, thanked the governor and promised to focus on their studies.

The initiative forms part of broader measures by the Taraba State Government to strengthen basic education and ensure that every child has access to learning, regardless of financial background.
