Accord Party Guber Candidate Jerome Nyameh Promises Merit-Based Appointments If Elected

The Accord Party gubernatorial candidate in Taraba State  Professor Jerome Nyameh has pledged to prioritize competence, integrity, and performance in appointments into government, boards, agencies, and strategic committees if elected.

Nyameh made the declaration while outlining his governance blueprint under what he described as the “Taraba Therapy Agenda,” stressing that his administration would be driven by clear vision, accountability, and measurable results rather than political patronage.

He stated that appointments under his leadership would be based strictly on merit, noting that the quality of governance is largely determined by the competence and character of those entrusted with public responsibilities.

According to him, local government administration would be strengthened through the introduction of measurable performance standards, while public officials would be held accountable for their actions and results. He added that his government would deploy technology to reduce human interference in governance processes and improve transparency.

Nyameh further emphasized that all ministries, departments, agencies, and local governments would operate with clearly defined targets, with continuous performance monitoring to ensure efficiency. He said officials who perform would be rewarded, while those who fail or compromise public trust would be replaced irrespective of political affiliations.

The Accord candidate also promised to build strong institutions anchored on teamwork, professionalism, and service delivery, noting that his administration would not revolve around personalities but systems capable of sustaining development.

He maintained that Taraba State requires a departure from what he described as old political practices, calling for courageous leadership, transparent governance, and a people-centered approach to development.

Nyameh assured residents of the state of a leadership guided by principle, service, and measurable outcomes, insisting that effective leadership must prioritize the welfare of the people.

He expressed confidence that with collective effort, Taraba could achieve a new direction marked by accountability, integrity, and sustainable progress.
