Aggrieved Taraba Youths Confront Reps’ Member Sadiq Tafida Over Alleged Neglect

A crisis broke out at Raddai Metropolitan School in Jalingo on Saturday evening when some youths reportedly challenged the member representing Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sadiq Tafida.

The youths allegedly accused the lawmaker of neglecting the constituency after winning the 2024 elections, alleging that he had stayed away from the area until his recent return to seek their support again.

Eyewitnesses said the situation became rowdy when the aggrieved youths confronted the lawmaker during the gathering.

Sources, however, disclosed that the crisis was brought under control following the intervention of the chairman of Jalingo local government area, Hon. Nura Dantsoho, who persuaded the youth to remain calm.

It was further gathered that Tafida later ensured his safety after reportedly paying a sum of money to calm the youths.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the lawmaker nor his aides had officially responded to the incident, and the public relations officer of the state police command, ASP Victor Mshelizah, did not respond to calls either.
