Gov Kefas Flags Off Zing–Yokoko Road, Assures Early 2027 Completion

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has officially flagged off the construction of the Zing–Yokoko road, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and improved service delivery across the state.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Kefas said his government remains focused on delivering people-centred projects that respond directly to the needs of citizens. He stressed that leadership is about responsibility and timely action, adding that his administration is determined to ensure visible development in all parts of the state.

“There is nothing government cannot achieve with time and commitment. This is the time to deliver meaningful development to our people,” the governor said.

He commended the people of the Mumuye area, describing them as hardworking farmers whose economic activities would benefit greatly from improved road access. According to him, the project will open up rural communities, ease transportation of farm produce, and boost economic activities across the axis.

Governor Kefas also recalled the strong electoral support he received from Zing Local Government Area, assuring residents that their trust in his leadership would not be taken for granted. He reaffirmed that the project would be completed on schedule, with a target of early 2027 for completion.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure Development, Samuel Lauya, said the road project had been structured in phases to ensure efficiency and quality delivery. He noted that Zing and surrounding communities had long suffered infrastructural neglect, but said the current administration was changing that narrative.

He added that the Zing–Yokoko–Monkin road project represents a major milestone that will improve movement of goods and services and stimulate economic growth in the area.

Also speaking, the Managing Director of the contracting firm, CRCC, commended the state government for awarding the project and assured that the company would deliver according to specification and timeline.
