Jalingo, Yorro, Zing: Traders Union Endorses SadiqAbbas Tafida For Second Term


In a significant show of political support, the Taraba State Traders Union has endorsed the Member representing Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Engr. Sadiq Abbas Tafida, for a second term in office.

The endorsement was announced by the Chairman of the Taraba State Traders Union, Alhaji Gamandi Adamu, during a Ramadan Iftar hosted by the lawmaker in Jalingo. The event brought together stakeholders, opinion leaders, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from across the three local government areas of the constituency.

Speaking at the gathering, Engr. Tafida said the event was organized to strengthen unity among the people and deepen the relationship between leaders and the grassroots.

"This gathering is about unity and togetherness beyond politics," he said, assuring constituents that the dividends of democracy would remain a top priority as he continues to attract developmental projects to the constituency before the end of his current tenure.

The lawmaker also commended the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for what he described as the administration's proactive approach to security and its commitment to promoting unity across ethnic and religious lines in the state.

Announcing the endorsement, Alhaji Gamandi Adamu said members of the Traders Union were satisfied with Tafida'sperformance and effective representation over the years, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver more dividends of democracy if given another mandate.

Also speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Area, Alhaji Nura Dantsoho, described the Iftar dinner as a commendable initiative that provided a platform for Muslims and Christians to interact in an atmosphere of peace and mutual respect.

The event concluded with prayers for peace, unity, and national progress led by representatives of the Muslim Council and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Dignitaries at the gathering included Alhaji Uba MairigaAlhajiUmar Adamu Sarki, members of the Taraba State House of Assembly representing Jalingo I and II constituencies, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Islamic Affairs, bishops, imams, traditional title holders, APC stakeholders, and other community leaders.
