2027 CAMPAIGN MANIFESTO

2. My Vision

To liberate Zing Constituency from over 20 years of political stagnation and establish a new political culture built on:

• Development-driven representation
• Generational leadership transition
• Accountability and transparency
• Protection and promotion of the interests of our people

This movement represents a political succession from the old order to the next generation of leadership.

3. My Philosophy of Representation

The role of a legislator is not to distribute money or execute token projects of minimal impact. The primary responsibility of a legislator is to:

• Make laws
• Represent the interests of constituents
• Influence government policy
• Ensure equitable distribution of government resources
• Lobby for major development projects

If elected, I will not mortgage the interests of my people for personal pecuniary benefit. I will also not reduce governance to the sharing of 10,000 stipends or small politically motivated gestures that do not bring sustainable development.

Instead, I will pursue high-impact development projects by ensuring that not less than 1 Billion worth of projects are included in the Taraba State Budget for Zing Constituency every fiscal year. This approach will ensure lasting development rather than temporary relief.

4. Strategic Development Agenda for Zing Constituency

Year One (2028 Budget): Reconstruction of Zing Township Roads

In my first year in office, I will lobby for the complete reconstruction of Zing Township Roads to be included in the 2028 Taraba State Budget. Good roads are critical to:

• Economic growth
• Trade and commerce
• Ease of movement
• Improved security
• Rural development

This project will significantly transform the urban landscape and economic activity in Zing town.

Year Two (2029 Budget): Construction of Zing to Lamma Road

In my second year, I will lobby for the construction of the Zing to Lamma Road to be included in the 2029 Taraba State Budget. This road will:

• Open up rural communities
• Improve agricultural transportation
• Enhance access to markets
• Reduce travel time between communities

Advocacy for the Ongoing Zing–Monkin Road Project:Because the Zing to Monkin road has already been awarded and is an ongoing project, I will actively collaborate with our federal lawmakers to ensure that funds are promptly released by the federal government and that contractors report back to the site to continue and complete the work.

Year Three (2030 Budget): Restoration of General Hospital Zing

Healthcare is a fundamental right of our people. In the 2030 Taraba State Budget, I will lobby for the renovation, upgrading, and full restoration of the General Hospital Zing to a standard and functional facility. This will include:

• Modern medical equipment
• Improved healthcare infrastructure
• Increased staffing support
• Better maternal and emergency care services

Our people deserve quality healthcare close to home.

5. Regional Infrastructure Development

The Mumuye Nation, spanning across Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Local Government Areas, covers less than 100 kilometers in distance.

If elected, I will collaborate with members representing these constituencies to lobby the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to construct a 100-kilometer alternative road network connecting:

• Jalingo
• Yorro Local Government Area
• Zing Local Government Area
• Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area

This regional road network will strengthen economic integration, improve transportation across the region, facilitate trade and agricultural distribution, and enhance regional development.

6. Employment and Opportunities for Our People

Youth unemployment remains one of the biggest challenges facing our constituency. As your representative, I will:

• Lobby for job opportunities for qualified indigenes of Zing Constituency.
• Advocate for fair inclusion in state and federal employment.
• Facilitate access to training and empowerment programmes.
• Promote opportunities within government agencies and development programs.

7. Protection of Federal Character and Fair Representation

I will ensure that the principle of equitable representation is respected in all decisions of the state government. This means advocating that:

• Every Local Government receives fair representation.
• Recruitment into the civil service is balanced and transparent.
• Appointments into political offices reflect fair distribution across the State.

No community should be marginalized in the affairs of the State.

8. Advancement of the Mumuye People

The interests of the Mumuye people will be protected, promoted, and projected under my watch. For too long, the Mumuye nation has been sidelined in political and developmental considerations.

If elected:

• I will be a strong voice for the Mumuye people.
• I will advocate for greater political inclusion.
• I will pursue development projects that benefit our communities.
• I will ensure that our people are not ignored in the distribution of opportunities.

The era of sidelining the Mumuye man must come to an end.

9. Culture and Entertainment

Our cultural heritage is the bedrock of our identity. To preserve our traditions and boost our local entertainment sector, I will:

• The Belle Festival: Collaborate with Mumuye traditional rulers across the Mumuye Nation, particularly in Zing, to host a befitting Belle Festival designed to infuse deeper cultural participation and unity among the young and the old.
• The Annual Yam Festival: Support and elevate festivals that showcase the Mumuye culture, such as the annual Yam Festival, working in close collaboration with the traditional and political leaders of the Mumuye Nation.
• Legislative Support: Sponsor bills and actively lobby for the advancement, protection, and promotion of Mumuyeculture and the broader entertainment industry within our constituency.

10. Transparent and Accessible Representation

My office will operate with openness and accountability. I will:

• Maintain regular consultations with constituents.
• Provide periodic reports of my legislative activities.
• Establish community engagement platforms.
• Ensure that the voices of the people are heard at the State Assembly.

11. Legislative Duties

Beyond constituency development, I will diligently carry out my responsibilities in the Taraba State House of Assembly, including:

• Sponsoring and supporting laws that promote development.
• Conducting oversight of government ministries and agencies.
• Ensuring accountability in government spending.
• Advocating policies that improve education, healthcare, security, and economic development.

12. A New Generation of Leadership

The 2027 election represents more than a political contest. It represents:

• The end of political stagnation.
• The rise of a new generation of leaders.
• A shift from politics of survival to politics of development.

Together, we will break the cycle of underdevelopment and build a prosperous future for Zing Constituency.

13. Conclusion

My commitment is simple:

• Integrity in leadership
• Development-driven representation
• Protection of the interests of our people
• A clear pathway for generational leadership transition
I humbly seek your support to represent Zing Constituency and work tirelessly to deliver meaningful development and effective representation. Together, we will move Zing forward.
