We Didn’t Refer to Ussa Chairman in Our Post – True Comrade TV Clarifies

True Comrade TV has issued a formal rejoinder to the disclaimer released by Hon. Abershi Musa, Executive Chairman of Ussa Local Government Council, insisting that its earlier Facebook publication did not mention or refer to the council boss.

In a response addressed to Taraba Truth and Facts, Japhet Kwabche, popularly known as True Comrade, said the post in question did not mention the name of the chairman, Ussa Local Government, or any identifiable individual.

According to him, the phrase "Your Chairman" was used in a general and non-specific manner without attribution to any person or office.

"At no point did True Comrade TV identify or accuse him by name or office," the statement read, adding that the chairman's decision to assume the publication referred to him was "entirely personal."

Kwabche further stated that the original Facebook post did not mention Governor Agbu Kefas or Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (Rtd), arguing that their inclusion in the chairman's disclaimer was unnecessary and introduced personalities who were not part of the initial publication.

He maintained that the post was a public alert issued strictly in the interest of personal safety and not a declaration of guilt or accusation against any individual.

"Raising alarm over perceived threats is a legitimate civic right and does not amount to defamation," the statement added.

True Comrade TV also said it has no objection to any lawful investigation by security agencies, provided such actions are based on facts and not assumptions.

The platform reaffirmed its commitment to peace, truth, and responsible journalism, while urging restraint and accuracy in public discourse.

Kwabche concluded by questioning why the chairman assumed the publication referred to him when neither his name, office, nor local government was mentioned, describing the matter as one of personal interpretation rather than accusation.

He said the Facebook post in question has been attached for public reference and transparency.
