Haulage Transporters Insist on Removal of Isa Nawe as Chairman, Affirm Andeshatso As Acting Chair

 

 

The crisis rocking the Heavy Duty and Haulage Transport Association of Nigeria (HDHTAN) in the state deepened on January 2, 2026, as the State Executive Council formally removed Mr. Isa Nawe (Limited) from office and warned the public against dealing with him in the name of the association.

 

At a duly constituted meeting held on January 2, the State Executive Council said it deliberated extensively on what it described as the conduct, actions and representations of Mr. Nawe. After what members termed a careful review, the council unanimously passed a Vote of No Confidence on him.

 

By the resolution, Mr. Nawe was stripped of "any authority, recognition, mandate or capacity whatsoever" to act, represent, transact, issue directives, collect funds, make appointments or engage in any activity on behalf of HDHTAN within the state.

 

The resolution, signed by Acting Secretary Muhammad Abubarka  and Director operation Zakari Adamu issued under the authority of the State Executive Council  immediate effect.

 

The council further declared that any claim, correspondence, financial transaction, appointment or undertaking made by Mr. Nawe in the name of the association from the date of the resolution is "null, void and of no effect."

 

In a decisive shift, the Executive Council simultaneously passed a Vote of Confidence in Prince Andeshatso Ira, affirming him as the Acting State Chairman of HDHTAN. The council said Ira now holds full powers and authority to administer and oversee the affairs of the association in the state pending further directives.

 

The association formally notified government institutions, security agencies, corporate bodies, financial institutions and the general public that any person or group dealing with Mr. Nawe in relation to HDHTAN does so at their own risk. It stressed that the association would not be liable for any loss or obligation arising from such dealings.
