Jalingo Council, Lawmaker Finalize Plans for Erosion Control Project in Majidadi
The Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Area, Hon. Nura Dantsoho, and the Member representing Jalingo II in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Alhaji Mairiga Uba, have concluded preparatory engagements ahead of the commencement of an erosion control project at Gadan Bobboji.
The meeting, which held in Majidadi ward, brought together relevant stakeholders and community members as part of efforts to ensure the smooth implementation of the project aimed at addressing erosion challenges in the area.
Addressing residents during the engagement, stakeholders stressed the need for full cooperation with contractors handling the project and urged the community to ensure that children are kept away from the construction site to avoid accidents and disruptions.
Speaking at the meeting, Alhaji Mairiga Uba expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for his support and commitment to the successful execution of the erosion control work. He also called on the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Area to propose a suitable name for the project upon its completion.
In his remarks, Hon. Nura Dantsoho thanked Governor Kefas for prioritising infrastructure and environmental protection in Jalingo, assuring residents of the local government's commitment to supporting the project to completion. He also used the occasion to urge residents to collect their All Progressives Congress (APC) membership cards, noting that only nine days remained before the close of the registration exercise.
The engagement ended with a joint photo session by the council chairman, the lawmaker and other stakeholders, marking the conclusion of arrangements ahead of the commencement of the project.
