Senator Haruna Manu Rolls Out Free Festive Transportation for Taraba Central Constituents
The Senator representing Taraba Central Senatorial District, Senator Haruna Manu, has rolled out a free transportation scheme for his constituents, deploying twelve 18-seater buses at major motor parks in Jalingo to ease movement during the festive season.
The buses are conveying passengers from Kakara Motor Park at Roadblock, Jalingo, and Kurmi Motor Park at Maigwoi to various destinations across the Taraba Central Senatorial District.
Hundreds of travellers heading to different parts of the district have benefited from the initiative, which is aimed at reducing the financial burden associated with festive travel. Beneficiaries commended Senator Manu for the gesture, noting that the free transportation has enabled them to travel home without hardship amid rising transportation costs.
Speaking at Kakara Motor Park, the Director of Media and Communications of the Haruna Manu Campaign Organisation, Mr. Jovita Shafe, described the programme as a reflection of the senator's consistent commitment to the welfare of his people.
Mr. Shafe explained that the free transportation scheme has been sustained for the past three years, with the objective of cushioning travel expenses for residents returning home to celebrate the festive period with their families.
He added that Senator Manu's interventions go beyond transportation, noting that the lawmaker has facilitated electricity projects in communities in Kurmi Local Government Area, installed solar power facilities in parts of Sardauna and Gashaka Local Government Areas, and organised medical outreach programmes across the senatorial zone.
