Professor Jerome Nyameh, popularly known as "The People's Professor," has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Taraba State.
Nyameh said findings from extensive consultations across the state, combined with feedback from online engagements, show overwhelming support for his ambition. According to him, opinions gathered both offline and online align in favour of his candidacy, reflecting a broad-based demand for new leadership in the state.
He said Taraba State is confronted with deep-rooted challenges across critical sectors, including governance, the economy, infrastructure, education and healthcare, which require a multifaceted and practical response. Nyameh stressed that addressing these issues would demand strong leadership capacity, administrative experience and personal integrity.
The professor expressed confidence in his readiness for the task, describing himself as prepared, dedicated and committed to restoring hope among the people and taking responsibility for what he described as a "New Taraba."
While withholding details of his political platform for now, Nyameh said he would soon announce the political party under which he would contest the election.
He called on citizens across the state to join him in what he described as a collective effort to reposition Taraba for growth and development, declaring that "Taraba Therapy is here."
