Reps Member A.M. Lauya Flags Off Bachama Ward Road Project, Reaffirms Commitment to Rural Development
The road, which will run from Garin Mallam Shehu to Ameche, links Taraba State to neighbouring Gombe State and is regarded by community members as the first of its kind in the social, economic and political history of the constituency.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Lauya said the project reflects his commitment to improving the lives of rural dwellers and bridging the infrastructure gap across communities in his constituency. He promised that the road will be completed and commissioned in the shortest possible time.
"This road is not just a route; it is a lifeline that will boost commerce, ease transportation, and improve access to schools, healthcare centres and farms," he said. "My goal is to ensure that rural communities are not left behind in development."
Community leaders, traditional rulers, religious figures and stakeholders present at the ceremony commended the lawmaker for fulfilling his promises and prioritising rural development. They described the project as a major step toward transforming the constituency.
The road construction is expected to open economic opportunities by improving access to local markets, enhancing agricultural productivity and providing jobs for residents during and after construction.
Residents said the project will reduce travel time, improve access to essential services and attract investors and businesses to the area.
Hon. Lauya assured constituents that more development projects in infrastructure, education and health are underway as part of his commitment to meaningful representation.
