Taraba Upgrades 40 Pry Healthcare Facilities, Targets 113 Centres The Taraba State Primary Healthcare Development Agency has announced the upgrade of over 40 healthcare facilities from Level One to Level Two across the state. Executive Secretary of the Agency, Mr. Tukura Nuhu, disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent, noting that the initiative is part of Governor Agbu Kefas’ commitment to revitalising the state’s healthcare system. According to him, the government plans to upgrade a total of 113 Primary Healthcare Centres, with 40 already completed. He explained that the upgrade is aimed at drastically reducing maternal mortality in the state. Nuhu said the upgraded facilities would feature doctors’ and nurses’ quarters, perimeter fencing, solar-powered electricity, and adequately trained staff to manage maternal health issues at the ward level. Nuhu said the upgraded facilities would feature doctors' and nurses' quarters, perimeter fencing, solar-powered electricity, and adequately trained staff to manage maternal health issues at the ward level.

On sustainability, the Executive Secretary revealed that a plan has been developed through the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund, which enables both the federal and state governments to contribute resources to ensure the centres are maintained.

He commended Governor Kefas for giving priority to healthcare delivery and urged residents of the state to support the government's health-focused initiatives.
