Muri Group Honours TIRS Boss, Gen Faransa

The Muri Initiative for Development has presented a Merit Award of Selfless Service to the Executive Chairman of the Taraba State Internal Revenue Service, Brigadier General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa (Rtd.).

The award, which recognizes General Faransa's dedication and commitment to public service, was presented during a special ceremony held in Jalingo.

In his acceptance speech, the retired General expressed appreciation for the recognition, describing it as a source of motivation and a stepping stone toward greater service.

Using the platform, General Faransa urged the people of Taraba State to join the fight against deforestation by planting trees in their communities, stressing the importance of preserving the state's ecosystem.

He condemned the widespread destruction of forests and land across the state, labeling it as unacceptable and calling for immediate action to stop it.

Commenting on the current administration, General Faransapraised Governor Agbu Kefas, describing him as a visionary, transformational leader, and critical thinker. He emphasized that the governor's efforts to transform Taraba State are commendable and deserve widespread support.

He called on citizens to rally behind Governor Kefas'sadministration for the collective advancement of the state.

Earlier in the ceremony, the Chairman of the occasion and Provost of the College of Education, Zing, Professor EjikaSambo, described General Faransa as a man of integrity who treats everyone fairly and stands firmly for the truth.

Professor Sambo further praised the awardee as someone committed to the progress of those around him. He highlighted General Faransa's notable achievements in developmental efforts, both as Chairman of the Taraba State Internal Revenue Service and as Head of the Special Task Force on Illegal Mining Activities in the state.
