Taraba Governor Sends Royal Delegation to Daura to Mourn President Buhari




His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, on Monday, 21st July 2025, sends a high-powered delegation of First Class Traditional Rulers to Daura in Katsina State, the hometown of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR. The purpose of the visit was to convey the heartfelt condolences of the Government and the good people of Taraba State to the bereaved family, the Emir and people of Daura, as well as the Emir of Katsina, following the passing of the former President.

The delegation was led by His Majesty, Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali Matakitswen, the Aku Uka and Chairman of the Taraba State Council of Traditional Rulers. He was accompanied by the following eminent First Class Chiefs: His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abbas Njidda Tafida, the Emir of Muri; His Royal Highness, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Sambo, the Kpanti Zing; His Royal Majesty, Barrister Sopiya Ahmadu Gboshi III, the Chief of Takum; His Royal Highness, Dr. Shehu Audu Baju, the Chief of Mambilla; and His Royal Highness, Alhaji Zubairu Hamman-Gabdo Mohammed Sambo, the Lamdo Gashaka.

During the visit, the royal delegation presented the official message of condolence on behalf of the Taraba State Council of Traditional Rulers and the People of Taraba State. They expressed profound sympathy over the loss of a national icon, a devoted public servant and a highly respected son of Katsina State. The delegation also highlighted the enduring legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari in promoting national unity, upholding integrity in leadership, and deep respect for traditional institutions.

This important visit further strengthened the bonds of brotherhood, mutual respect, and solidarity between the people of Taraba and Katsina States during this period of national mourning.
