Bali/Gassol Lawmaker Hon. Ja’afaru Yakubu Ciroma Uplifts Communities Through Massive Empowerment

The member representing Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ja'afaru Yakubu Ciroma, has launched a wide-reaching empowerment initiative that is already being hailed as a major milestone in grassroots development.

The event, held at the Federal Polytechnic Bali, attracted thousands of beneficiaries and dignitaries from across Taraba State. Residents of all 23 wards in the Bali/Gassol constituency gathered to witness what many described as a practical expression of democratic dividends.

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, represented at the occasion by the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, described the empowerment initiative as exemplary and called on other politicians to emulate Hon. Ja'afaru's commitment to public service. He praised the lawmaker as a "bulldozer of progress" who is dedicated to uplifting his people regardless of political or social status. According to him, this latest initiative is only one of several meaningful interventions carried out by the federal legislator since assuming office.

The items distributed at the event included 23 brand-new mini ambulances for Primary Health Care Centres, 23 ultrasound scanning machines, 60 branded vehicles including over 20 Toyota Highlanders, several Peugeot 307 and Golf cars, and two Sharon buses for public use at Bali and Mutum Biyu cemeteries. Also presented were 62 motorcycles, mini tractors for each of the 23 wards, 230 chemical spraying containers, solar-powered water pumps and panels, hospital beds, wheelchairs, herbicides, and other medical and agricultural equipment.

Addressing the crowd, Hon. Ja'afaru Yakubu Ciroma reaffirmed his dedication to tackling the challenges faced by rural communities, particularly in healthcare and transportation. He explained that his decision to focus on medical support stemmed from the suffering experienced by residents in trying to access quality health services. He emphasized the life-saving potential of the distributed medical equipment and called on beneficiaries to make responsible use of the items for the collective benefit of their communities.

Earlier in the day, the federal lawmaker was welcomed to Bali by a large and jubilant crowd who gathered at the outskirts of the town chanting slogans in support of his leadership. Before arriving at the main venue, he paid homage to traditional rulers, including Lamdo Bakundi, Muhammad Kabiru Misa, and Kur Jibu Bali, Alhaji Abubakar Mahmud Adamu, to receive royal blessings. He also took time to inspect and commission newly completed road projects in Bali town as part of his development efforts in the constituency.

The empowerment event was graced by a host of dignitaries, including Dr. Jeji William, Chief of Staff to the Taraba State Government House Administration; Professor Josiah Sabo Kente, Political Adviser to the Governor; Hon. Veronica Alhassan, member representing Bali I Constituency; Dr. Bordiya Buma, Taraba State Commissioner for Health; and Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu, Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo. These special guests delivered goodwill messages, commending Hon. Ja'afaru's leadership qualities and his tireless efforts to improve the lives of his constituents. They described him as a man of virtue, trust, and integrity who has earned the respect and confidence of his people.

Beneficiaries of the programme could not hide their excitement. Many expressed profound gratitude, noting that the support would significantly ease their daily challenges. A local farmer, Malam Usman Abdullahi, who received a mini tractor and sprayers, said the items would boost food production and make farming more efficient. A healthcare worker, Mrs. Beatrice Tanko, praised the delivery of ambulances and hospital equipment, noting that they would bring critical healthcare services closer to remote communities.

In an interview after the event, Hon. Ja'afaru stated that this intervention was not the first and certainly would not be the last. He reiterated his commitment to continuous empowerment and development of the Bali/Gassol constituency, assuring that more projects and programmes were in the pipeline to address the needs of the people.

With this massive outreach, Hon. Ja'afaru Yakubu Ciroma has once again demonstrated a deep commitment to grassroots development and cemented his position as one of the most impactful lawmakers in the 10th National Assembly.
