Taraba Govt Constitutes Committee To Investigate TTV


A committee to investigate activities and operations of the Taraba Television Corporation, TTV Jalingo from June, 2023 to date has been constituted. 

 

The Committee has Justice Hamidu Audu, as Chairman and four others as members.

 

Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Yakubu Maikasuwa at the inaugural meeting of the committee held in Jalingo asked members to stick to the terms of reference and be just and fair in their assignment.

 

The terms of reference include investigating the revenue inflows from advertisements and other revenue streams of the TTV and assessing the sustainability strategies used to ensure debt reduction and savings.

 

It is also to provide recommendations on whether the TTV; should pursue full or partial commercialization for self-sustainability. 

 

The committee is to further examine the reasons behind the non-transmission of TTV for the specified period and investigate the insubordination and lack of adherence to the directive to use part of the monthly overhead to reduce debt. 

 

The Secretary of the committee, Liberty Andrew, therefore, called for the submission of memoranda from the general public, staff of the TTV, and other professional unions. 

 

The memoranda should be submitted in eight copies from today to Monday, May, twenty seventh, twenty twenty-four. 

 

The committee will be holding its sitting at the conference hall of the Taraba State Broadcasting Service, TSBS, Jalingo and to receive oral and written memoranda.
