Urgent Appeal for Accreditation of the Medical Laboratory Science Department at Taraba State University

 

Dear Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas,

 

I hope this letter finds you well. It is with a heavy heart and a sense of desperation that I, on behalf of the numerous students who have graduated from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science at Taraba State University, Jalingo, write to you today.

 

Sir, our plight is one of great distress and anguish. We, the graduates of December 2021, along with two subsequent sets of graduands, find ourselves in a dire situation due to the lack of accreditation of our department. This situation has left us stranded, unable to pursue our careers or contribute meaningfully to society.

 

Many of us come from families who sacrificed greatly to see us through university. Some of our parents are pensioners, while others are widows, bearing the burden of financing our education through their meager resources. The prolonged delay in accreditation has not only dashed our hopes and aspirations but has also exacerbated the financial strain on our families.

 

It is disheartening to note that despite our relentless efforts and appeals, the Department of Medical Laboratory Science at Taraba State University remains unaccredited. As a result, we are left in limbo, unable to obtain our certificates or licenses to practice. For some of us, this has meant sitting at home for nearly three years, watching precious time slip away without any semblance of progress or resolution.

 

Governor Kefas, we implore you to intervene on our behalf and expedite the accreditation process for our department. We beseech you to use your esteemed office to call upon the appropriate authorities to take swift and decisive action. Our future, as well as the well-being of our families, hangs in the balance, and we cannot afford to wait any longer.

 

Furthermore, we urge you to extend your assistance to the Vice Chancellor of Taraba State University and other relevant stakeholders. Together, we must work tirelessly to ensure that the necessary steps are taken to rectify this grave injustice and restore hope to the countless students who find themselves in a similar predicament.

 

In closing, Governor Kefas, we appeal to your sense of compassion and duty to stand with us in our time of need. Your intervention can make all the difference in the world to us and our families. We humbly request your urgent attention to this matter and eagerly await your favorable response.
