How Lack Of Drinking Water Caused Strange Disease In Munga Dosso Community

For residents of Munga Dosso Community in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the Taraba state lack of access to portable water for drinking has done more damage to their lives.

They are suffering from unknown aliment which local health official said has claimed many lives in the last two months

 Munga Dosso Community does not lack access to drinking water alone, the community is faced with absence of basic social amenities like quality healthcare service, access roads with the only primary school in the community dilapidated.

 Mr Boaz Dindago said the community has been hit with a strange illness with many people dying daily due to lack of quality healthcare service in the area.

"We have a health crisis at hand in Munga Community and it's killing our people, our people are having severe stomach pains and acute shortage of blood."

 

The Village Head of Munga Dosso Community, Mr Ezekiel Hassan said there is an urgent need for the Taraba State Ministry of Health to visit his domain to ascertain health challenge facing the residents to save the lives of people.

 He explained that the visit will afford the health officials to carryout emergency test to ascertain the cause of the sickness currently ravaging people ranging from severe stomach pains and acute shortage of blood which have so far claimed many lives.

 The traditional leader attributed the situation to lack of good drinking water in the community and the surrounding settlements, noting that lack of potable water is a major issue of serious concern to the residents especially during the Dry season.

 He further lamented that the prevailing situation has forced inhabitants of the community to fetch water from the stream as the only alternative means for their domestic use.

 Mr Hassan made a called on the government to come to their aid by sinking boreholes and other sources of clean water to salvage them from their present predicament.

 He said Munga Community has always been a supporter of government at all times, emphasizing that if the challenge is addressed, it would greatly give the people a sense of belonging.

 When contacted, the Director of Primary Health Care, Karim Lamido Local Government Council, Frederick Nyagaji, said he is yet to receive any report on the issue, but promised to contact the relevant organ of government when he receives any information on the development.
