Why Kuchicheb Festival Is Suspended, 'Ukwe Ahmadu II'

The Traditional Paramount Ruler of Kutebs Nation, Ukwe Rimamnyang Habu Ahmadu II has given reasons for the suspension of the Kuchicheb Festival this year.

The Traditional Ruler speaking at recently concluded RCCN Zion Conference in Takum also  urged unity among those residing in Takum so that they may work together on ways to cultivate its fertile land instead of wasting time debating traditional matters.

Ukwe Ahamdu II who attended the event along side HRH Dr Amos Andekin from Kwe Kpambo Chiefdom, Kwe Ando Madugu from Kwe Lissam Chiefdom, and Kwe Emmanuel Ikoti from the Kwambai Chiefdom, said the suspension of the Kuchicheb Festival is a sacrifice that must be made to enable the elders of the land and government resolve the issues facing Takum.

The Traditional Ruler who was speaking in public for the first time said the suspension of the Kuchicheb festival will pave way for proper planning of future festivals after a peaceful resolution has been reached.

Ukwe Rimamnyang Habu Ahmadu II however call for calm, respect for constituted authority and mutual respect among the people of Takum and the entire Kuteb nation. 

He emphasized that it is important to maintain peaceful coexistence in spite of rich ethnic and political diversity.

Also, Ukwe Ahmadu II called upon members of the Kuteb community to restore ancient culture regarding respect for elders; traditional institutions; constituted authorities; Government officials etc., which would contribute positively towards achieving peace while promoting sustainable growth within their region.
