Taraba Poly Gets Accreditation For ND, HND Programmes

The Rector of the Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai, Ayuba Ibrahim Abarshi has lauded Governor Agbu Kefas for his support to the institution.

The Rector who made the commendation in an interview in Jalingo, said his support has led to the accreditation of some courses by the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE.

Mr Abarshi said the NBTE during its visit in December last year, accredited six Programmes in the school, revealing that the school now runs National Diploma, ND.

The Rector added that the polytechnic Suntai after graduating the first set of Students to be admitted for the National Diploma programmes, can also offer Higher National Diploma, HND programmes.

Mr Abarshi pointed out that over the years, the institution has been Producing excelling Students who are doing well at both academic and Service delivery in the state, assuring that they will continue to do more with the recent progress.

He however, lamented the decision taken by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Examinations Board, JAMB to suspend admission of Students with Ordinary Diploma, OD to further their studies in Universities but accepting only those with National Diploma,ND.

He said though the case is not restricted to Students from the institution or Taraba State alone, he called for reconsideration by the Examination body in the interest progress.

The Rector appealed for more financial support to enable the institution succeed in Producing technologists and engineers among others.

He however, appreciated the Staff of the Polytechnic for their relentless efforts to make the institution what it is today.
