Gov Kefas Reopens Abandoned Abuja Liaison Office After Nine Years

Nine years after the Taraba State Liaison Office in Abuja was abandoned due to debts owed to a contractor, Governor Agbu Kefas has taken over the property after paying off the contractor.

Taraba Truth and Fact Newspaper exclusively gathered that Governor Agbu Kefas took over the multi million facility after paying off accumulated debts owed to the contractor who renovated the dilapidated building and furnished it nine years ago.

The previous administration's  refusal to balance the contractor who renovated the building under the Late Governor Danbaba Suntai administration had left it abandoned in the last eight years, Taraba Truth and Facts had earlier reported.

Previous administrations were heavily criticized for not putting the building to use in the last nine years, leaving it to rot away.

The building with 28 rooms and one suite was furnished with first class furniture was to provide a conducive working environment for officials of the state working in Taraba and increase the IGR of the state.

Officials of the Taraba State Liaison Office who spoke to Taraba Truth and Fact Newspaper commended Governor Agbu Kefas for resolving the issue and reopening the building for use.

"The Taraba State government almost lost this building because some people wanted it to dilapidated so they can sell it as an abandoned building to themselves, but Governor Agbu Kefas has paid off the contractor who renovated and furnished the building eight years ago, the State Government has now taken over the property and plans are underway to put it to good use."

Meanwhile  Governor Agbu Kefas while pledging to complete all ongoing projects initiated by past administrations, announced that he would construct the Lau-Karim Lamido Road, and Takum-Ussa Road, and complete the Ussa and Bali General hospitals among others.
