Corps Members Donate Sanitary Pads, Education Materials To Students In Jen Community


 

 





Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Jen Town, Taraba State, have donated sanitary pads,  education and instructional materials to students in public secondary schools in the area.

 

The youth corps members also held a three-day sensitisation programme on the lead theme 'Building a better society'. The event featured talks on various topics like importance of education, sanitation and body hygiene, drug and drug abuse, protection of public property and sex education.

 

In his welcome address, Emekabasi Emmanuel, the NYSC liason officer of Karim B, said that it was the collective responsibility of parents, teachers and the society to provide an enabling environment for children to learn and grow.

 

"Our children deserve a better future, and for them to attend this better future, we the parents, teachers and the entire society must activate and nurture their minds and memory.

 

"It is on this note, that we the Corps members decided to organize an event like this where issues concerning real life and destiny will be discussed," he said.

 

Mr Emmanuel,   listed education materials donated the students to include 720 exercise books, 750 pieces of biro, 400 packs of sanitary pads. The event was well attended by NYSC officials, school managers and community leaders.
