Police Confirms Killing of Six Herders in Karim Lamido

The spoke person of  Taraba State Police Command,  ASP Abdullahi Usman  said at least six persons mostly Fulani herders were  killed  in an attack at Mungadoso village in Karim-Lamido local government area of the state.

 

The victims, four young boys and two women were killed while three missing in clashed between Munga Lelau Community and Fulani herders in Karim Lamido Local government Area.

 

Eyewitness report said trouble started on Saturday, when a native of Munga Lelau was suspected to have been by killed by Fulani herders after his farm was totally destroyed by straying cows, the farmer while trailing the animals was hacked to death.

 

His kinsmen from Munga however decided to launched a reprisal attacked on the Fulani who were on migration to Mountainous hills of the area.

 

Chairman Karim Lamido Local government Council, Markus Hamidu, confirmed the incident said the council in collaboration with security agents and traditional rulers of the affected communities have met and normalcy has restored in the area.

 

The Chairman stated that he has taken a pragmatic steps to forward the issue to the governor to reinforce security presence in order to forestall any further occurrence.

 

Hamidu asked the two parties to sheath their sword in the interest of peace and prosperity of the area noting that no meaningful achievement can be realized in an atmosphere of pandemonium.
