Contractor May Abandon Mararaba Biasa Road Project as Gunmen Kidnap Chinese Worker



Contractor handling the Mararaba Biasa Road project has lamented the kidnapping of its worker at the project site saying continuous insecurity in the area is a threat to the completion of the project.
 Mr. Liang, a Chinese National working with CCC construction company was abducted by unknown gunmen in Monday night along Donga - Marraba road, a suburb of Donga Local Government in the state.
As at time of this report he is yet to be rescued from the kidnappers.
Mr. Yamujeh Usman Ba'aga a resident of the Mararaba community and a per-time worker with the construction company lamented that the incident has crippled activities of the company as they intensify search for the kidnapped worker.
Ba'aga noted that the kidnapped Chinese worker went to the site to supervise the quality of the gravel being fetched along Donga Mararaba road, where the gunmen ambushed them and abducted him.
According to another source, the gunmen overpowered the police bodyguard of the contractor who tried to repel the attack one of the kidnappers was said to be captured by the youth handed over to the police, while the rest succeeded in taking the Chinese contractor away.
 
The chairman of Donga Hon. Nashuka Ipeyen in collaboration with top security officers are however intensifying efforts to secure the release of the worker. 
An Aide of the local government boss said a search team including Hon Ipeyen are currently in the bush to find out their self how a Chinese man was kidnapped
The chairman appeal to residents and security agents to be very vigilant and share any information to security personnel that could aid the safety rescue of the kidnapped Chinese worker.
Several sources said the company handling the project are already threatening to abandon the Mararaba Biasa Road project due to the incident as work has been suspended on the project.
