How Dr. Danlami Shamaki Was Murdered in Dan-Anacha

The school proprietor identified as Danlami Shamaki was said to be returning from Abuja Sunday night where he went for a meeting before he was ambushed alongside his driver and aides. 

 

He was the proprietor of New Edition Nursery and primary school as well as Winners Comprehensive High School, Jalingo. 

 

A family source who preferred anonymity disclosed that the incident occurred at Dan-anacha community, a suburb of Gassol local government area. 

 

According to the source, "when they were returning from Abuja and got to Dan-anacha the hoodlums used water truck to block the road, which made his driver to maneuver and escaped unhurt, but in order to show sympathy he ordered the driver to stop. 

 

"When they stopped to check if the truck pusher was hurt or otherwise, the hoodlums opened fire targeting the proprietor only."

 

Mrs. Juliana Shamaki, Wife of the deceased, Mrs. Juliana Shamaki also confirmed the incident via a telephone to our source in tears said "They have killed my Husband".

 

Another account revealed that late Shamaki was seated in front the vehicle when they ran into a group of armed men and he was shot and died instantly, while the driver and other three people at the back were able to escaped unhurt.

 

However, the remains of the proprietor have been deposited at the Morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo. 

 

The police public relations officer, David Misal says the incident has not been reported to his desk, but assures that all hands must be on deck to fish out the perpetrators.

Meanwhile the Ichen Nation has been thrown into mourning as several leaders are expressing shock and anger over the killing of the foremost school owner.

A former student of the deceased Alh Abubakar Sadiq Angulle has also condole with the family of the late Dr Shamaki.

Angulle said Dr Shamaki has contributed a lots to the societal development of Taraba state and Nigeria at large, particularly in educational sector.

 

"I can remember; our mentor and the greatest Youth of the present time, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Angulle is a former student of winners School and the first head Boy 2000.

 

Yeriman Angulle express the deceased as the great  contributor to his educational background and many other people within Nigeria. Those who took the life of such important personality will never have peace of mind, their illegal will drive them to the hand of Justice one day."
