Muri Social Connect Honours Taraba Truth and Facts Newspaper, Others

As part of its own contribution in recognising change-makers in Taraba State, Muri Social Connect has honoured the flagship newspaper in the state, Taraba Truth and Facts Newspaper. 

 

It explained that the newspaper unbiased reporting and its untiring efforts in reporting truth and facts without minding whose ox is gored necessitated the award. Recall that the club had awarded the newspaper as the Taraba State's Voice of the voiceless. 

 

The Executive Director , Muri Social Connect Shameel Isah Muhammed said the newspaper's fearlessness even in the face of undaunting opposition from the powers that be was commendable hence the need for the recognition by the group. 

 

He noted that the award and those given to other awardees were part of the club's contribution towards ensuring the society is safe and on the part of progress by recognising those making positive waves in the society. 

 

The award by Muri social connect was to recognise some of our people who are contributing towards ensuring that our children, parents, brothers and sisters are safe and living in a good life by helping the community, guiding the community and supporting the community in one way or the other.

 

He noted that the aims and objective of the club which is non-governmental, non-profit, non-partisan and non-religious organizations were to promote unity amongst Tarabans; create awareness on the dangers of fake news on social media platforms; revived our cultural heritage, offer humanitarian service and create awareness on the effects of violence in the society.

 

 

The President listed other awardees aside Taraba Truth and Facts to include Hon Abdulnasir Bobboji, Chairman Jalingo Local Government Area who bagged the award as the peace ambassador; Lamido Tukur Abba Tukur (Galadiman Muri) as peace Ambassador; Hon Nasir Usman Tafida member Jalingo 2 as Youth ambassador; Hon Abubakar Yahuza Member Jalingo 1 as a youth ambassador; Rev. Issia Magaji jirapye, Taraba State CAN Chairman as a peace ambassador and Sheikh Dr Ibrahim Jalo Jalingo National Chairman JIBWIS Council Of Ulama As Peace ambassador. 

 

Others are Hon Muhammad Bashir Bappe Member Sardauna as Workerholic member; HRH Alh Ado Adamu Mazang, Chief of Mummuye as peace ambassador; Alhaji Aminu Umar Mafindi, Sarkin Dawakin Muri As Peace Ambassador,  Hon Dr Sulaiman Bakari SB As Youth ambassador and Hon Hassan Bappa As Youth ambassador.
