Taraba Guber Tribunal case to Continue Next Week

• APC, Prof. Sani Yahaya hires SAN, 20 lawyers to reclaim mandate

All seems not to be over for Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State as the new candidate of All Progressive Congress APC, Prof. Muhammad Sani Yahaya and his party has perfected plans to continue the case at the election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja.
The National Secretariat of the APC had written INEC to recognize Prof. Yahaya as its candidate for the last governorship election, following a Supreme Court Judgment disqualifying Alhaji Sani Danladi from the race.
The tribunal is expected to resume trial on Wednesday, 31 of July for continuation of hearing of APC petition challenging Governor Ishaku victory at the poll, with Prof Sani Yahaya legal team to be led by a respected Senior Advocate of Nigeria with verse knowledge of election disputes.
Contrary to claims that the APC had withdrawn it petition at the Tribunal,  State Coordinator Buhari Campaign Organization (BCO) , Tukur Sambo Santali said  the APC in Taraba State is determined to go on with the continuation of case  at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal and reclaim its stolen mandate from the PDP.
Sambo Santali stressed that the Party’s petition was never dismissed at the tribunal noting that the party  has submitted all documents to recover its mandate within the constitutional stipulated time.
A lawyer said the legal positions are there, “the votes belong to the party not the candidate and only the party can withdraw petition in cases of election tribunal.
“The APC and its new candidate will continue the petition with same witness, same claims filed at the pre hearing  stage,  it’s not a new case it just a change of name, anywhere the name of the former candidate appears it will be replaced with the new candidate therefore the APC petition is still very valid and potent in the eye of the law.”
Prof Yahaya had told  told Taraba Truth and Facts that his mandate is to reclaim the victory of the APC at the governorship election at the Court.
''With this decision of the Supreme court I would inherit all the votes of the APC in the last governorship election. Am committed to reclaiming our victory at the tribunal and ensure the APC form government in Taraba state because the people voted for APC massively in the last election but the PDP rigged us which we are challenging in Court.
Prof Yahaya assures that he would fight the legal battle to victory; calling on all APC stakeholders in the state to join him take Taraba to the league of Next Level states.
