Says Over 10,000 Youths, Women Benefiting FromSanitation Initiative
The Iliya Kefas Alhaji Coalition has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Saturday at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo during a mobilisation exercise attended by supporters drawn from across Taraba State.
The coalition said its decision was based on what it described as the achievements and ongoing programmes of the Tinubu and Kefas administrations in security, education, human capital development, agriculture, infrastructure and economic development.
Speaking at the event, the leader of the coalition and Chairman Taraba State Sanitation Agency Hon. Iliya Kefas Alhaji, said the group decided to support President Tinubu and Governor Kefas because of what he described as their efforts to improve the living conditions of Nigerians and Tarabans.
According to him, the Tinubu administration has introduced initiatives in security, human capital development, infrastructure, agriculture and economic development which, in his assessment, require continuity beyond 2027.
Iliya also commended Governor Kefas for what he described as interventions by his administration in education, security, agriculture, infrastructure and economic development across Taraba State.
“We are here to endorse our papa, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor Agbu Kefas for their second term in office,” Iliya said.
The coalition leader further highlighted the state’s ongoing sanitation initiative, claiming that more than 10,000 youths and women had benefited from the programme through employment and related opportunities.
He said the coalition would sustain its mobilisation efforts across Taraba State to build support for both administrations ahead of the 2027 elections.
The organisers said the mobilisation exercise attracted participants from the 16 Local Government Areas and the two Special Development Areas of the state.
Also speaking, Mrs Victoria Markus called for the re-election of President Tinubu, saying he should be given another term to consolidate on programmes and initiatives introduced by his administration.
She also commended Governor Kefas for what she described as visible interventions in education, security, agriculture, infrastructure and economic development.
Similarly, Adamu Usman described the endorsement as an opportunity to support continuity in governance, saying President Tinubu and Governor Kefas should be allowed to consolidate on programmes and projects already initiated by their respective administrations.
He urged supporters and other stakeholders across Taraba State to intensify mobilisation for the re-election of the President and the Governor.
The endorsement comes amid increasing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political groups and support organisations beginning to mobilise across the state.
While the coalition has declared its support for the second-term bids of President Tinubu and Governor Kefas, any such bids remain subject to the applicable constitutional, party and electoral requirements.
The Iliya Kefas-led Coalition said it would continue its mobilisation activities across Taraba State as it seeks to strengthen grassroots support for the two leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.
