The Executive Chairman of Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba State, Hon. Abershi Musa, has led a special thanksgiving and prayer session at the council secretariat, with a focus on sustaining peace, good governance and development in the area.

The event brought together members of the Local Government Council, councillors, political appointees and other government officials, who gathered to thank God for what the chairman described as six months of divine guidance and stability under the current administration.

Speaking during the session, Musa expressed gratitude for the relative peace being enjoyed in Ussa, noting that the area has not recorded clashes between Fulani herders and farmers since he assumed office.

He said the ongoing farming season has progressed without disruption, with farmers already harvesting crops such as maize and groundnuts, a development he attributed to divine intervention, improved security measures and cooperation among stakeholders.

“By the grace of God, Ussa has remained peaceful. Farmers have carried out their activities without fear, and we are already witnessing a good harvest,” he said.

The chairman also acknowledged what he described as God’s protection over the administration, adding that any attempts to destabilise the area had been thwarted.

Musa commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his support in maintaining peace in the local government, particularly through security funding, logistics and policies that have strengthened operations in the area.

Prayers were also offered for the governor and his family, seeking divine guidance, good health and wisdom as he continues to lead the state.

Participants further prayed for sustained peace, unity, security and development in Ussa and Taraba State at large.

During the gathering, the chairman announced that the last Thursday of every month would henceforth be observed as a Monthly Prayer Day in the local government.

He said the initiative is aimed at bringing together leaders and stakeholders to continually seek divine guidance and blessings for the area and the state.

Musa thanked participants for their presence and reiterated his administration’s commitment to promoting peace, unity and service to the people.
