The Chairman of Ussa Local Government Council Hon. AbarshiMusa, has called on the Kuteb people to strengthen unity, invest in innovation and position the community to benefit from emerging economic opportunities.

The chairman made the call while addressing the Kuteb Yatso of Nigeria at an event in Abuja, where he also congratulated the newly elected national executive council led by DIG Christopher Katso.

He commended the Ukwe of Takum, His Royal Majesty UkweRimamyang Habu, for his leadership and guidance, while praising the Abuja Chapter of Kuteb Yatso for its organization and representation of the interests of the Kuteb people.

The chairman also congratulated DIG Zachariah Fera Achinyanon his promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police, describing the elevation as a source of pride and an example of the achievements possible through discipline, competence and dedicated service.

Reflecting on his administration since assuming office in November 2025, the chairman said his focus had been on security, agriculture and education.

He said peace had been sustained across Ussa Local Government Area, with no major crisis recorded under his administration, attributing the development to the prayers and cooperation of the people, traditional and religious leaders, security agencies and local communities.

According to him, farmers in the area have recorded a bumper harvest, particularly in groundnut production, while his administration has also embarked on the renovation of schools to provide safer learning environments for children.

The chairman further disclosed that sustained engagement with the state government and elected representatives had attracted development interventions to the area.

He said Governor Agbu Kefas had initiated the Takum-LissamRoad project and directed the survey of the Lissam-Fikyu Road.

He also said Senator David S. U. Jimkuta had facilitated a mega empowerment programme for constituents and continued efforts towards restoring electricity across Ussa, while HonourableMark Useni had facilitated the Rufu-Lumbu Road project and installation of solar-powered streetlights in communities.

He urged the Kuteb people to monitor government projects and sustain constructive engagement with public officeholders.

“Development is our right, and every commitment made to our people must be followed through to completion,” he said.

The chairman challenged Kuteb Yatso of Nigeria to expand its activities beyond cultural and social issues by promoting technology, manufacturing, agro-processing, innovation and enterprise development.

He called for the creation of platforms to identify Kutebprofessionals, mobilise investments, support entrepreneurs and connect young people and communities to national and international opportunities.

He expressed hope that the Kuteb community would produce technology companies, processing facilities, manufacturing enterprises and agricultural brands capable of creating jobs and generating prosperity.

The chairman particularly charged young Kuteb people to acquire relevant skills, establish businesses, develop solutions and build productive partnerships, while urging accomplished professionals to mentor and invest in the younger generation.

He also called for unity and peaceful participation as the electoral season approaches, urging the Kuteb people to speak with a common purpose and seek divine guidance in their affairs.

He prayed for lasting peace, unity and prosperity for the KutebNation and for continued wisdom for its traditional, religious and community leaders.
