Water Scarcity Worsens in Pupule Community as Residents Decry Neglect

Residents of Pupule community are facing an acute water shortage, with the situation described as increasingly alarming amid delayed repairs to critical infrastructure.

A major concern is the damaged water tank at the Pupule Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC), which has reportedly been torn, causing water to pour out uncontrollably. Community members were seen scrambling to fetch the leaking water, highlighting the desperation caused by the shortage. Despite earlier promises of renovation, the facility remains unrepaired.

At Anguwan Dolla, near the PHCC and opposite the Pupule Police Station, residents were observed forming long queues at a public tap said to be running dry. The development has further compounded hardship for households already struggling to access clean water.

A resident, Hamidu Buba, criticized the lawmaker representing the area in the State House of Assembly, accusing him of neglecting the needs of the people. He called for immediate government intervention to address the worsening water crisis.

The situation continues to generate concern among residents, who warn that the scarcity could escalate if urgent steps are not taken to restore water supply and fix the damaged infrastructure.
