The paramount ruler emphasized the need for sustained collaboration that would bring mutual benefits, particularly through cultural exchange programmes and strategic partnerships.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell conveyed the goodwill of the people of Grenada to the people of Taraba State, stating that he was pleased to witness the rich cultural heritage on display during the fishing festival.

He commended the hospitality of the people and expressed admiration for the traditions of the state, assuring that such visits would be sustained to deepen ties between Grenada and Taraba.

Mitchell also underscored the importance of international cooperation, noting that partnerships between regions could open new opportunities for growth and shared development.

Also speaking, Ghana’s Minister for Presidential Special Initiatives and Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North Constituency, Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, praised the cultural heritage of Taraba State and called for stronger collaboration between Ghana and the state.

He expressed appreciation for the preservation of traditions and encouraged deeper engagement in cultural and economic exchanges.

The Secretary to the Taraba State Government, Chief GebonTimothy Kataps, disclosed that arrangements were underway for cultural troupes from the state to visit Grenada in May as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cultural relations.

Other traditional rulers present at the meeting included the Garaof Donga, HRH Amb. Sanvalla Shimbura Verzoa; the Chief of Takum, HRH Barr. Sopiya Ahmadu Gboshi; the Kpanti Zing, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Sambo; the Lamdo Gashaka, AlhajiZubairu Hammangabdo; HRH Bentley Biyapo Murum Mbula; and the Kwanchi Nunguraye, Dishon Dansanda.

The visit underscored the growing role of traditional institutions in promoting cultural diplomacy, fostering international partnerships, and supporting development initiatives beyond national borders.
